The AI Minister's Story Gets Complicated
Apparently I cannot stop writing about Diella.
Remember Diella, the world’s first “AI minister”, installed to end corruption in the Albanian government procurement process? I regret to inform you that the system’s developers have now themselves been arrested for corruption in the government procurement process.
A quick recap: Diella – an AI system with a beautiful female avatar based on real-life actor Anila Bisha in traditional Albanian dress – was launched on September 25 by Edi Rama, Albania’s theatrical, polarising and scandal-plagued prime minister. Rama announced that the AI would oversee public tenders, with the result, he said, that they would now be “100 per cent free of corruption”…
